I need this slightly autotuned, kick the beat up a few notches (just a touch), and turned into a song. This will be the new "my money don't jiggle jiggle".

The busy-ness is back. But so is making music with other people in the same room, so I can’t complain too much. 🤓

Elle Griffin's avatar

Well that is true. There are some definite gains creatively!

Solitude is great for writing. But not for everything. We do need other people in our lives. But we also need to guard our alone time. The struggle to find balance has returned also.

This really resonates with me. I’m in a self-imposed quarantine at the moment. At first it gave me FOMO, but now (if I don’t incessantly check Instagram) I finally feel an inkling of peace.

Also, I love that you’re one TikTok 🤩

I love that peace! Without quarantine it’s up to us to protect it!

And I love TikTok! I wish I had it when I was young so I knew that kind of creativity existed in the world!

Hello Ms. Griffin, I was wondering if you’d like to do a collaborative interview with A.M. Productions over on my Newsletter?

Elle Griffin's avatar

I’m currently on hiatus from interviews just because my day job has left only enough time to write! But perhaps someday!

Abigail's avatar

Thank you for getting back to me, Ms. Griffin. I understand your situation, but is there a chance you could give me an estimate for when you can interview me? It can be the most rough of all estimates.

A.M. Productions,

Produce, Before Dawn

Not for the foreseeable future!

Sure, that’s fine. Next time, maybe.

Love your poem! In my opinion, I felt like everyone was on the same level during the pandemic. We were all confused and scared but also given a chance to reevaluate everything. No one really had an upper hand because we were all stuck at home. Now it just feels like we’re back in the hustle culture race again.

Elle Griffin's avatar

Totally agree. It was so lovely to just not have social obligations because we couldn’t!

Kayla Peart's avatar

Omg I know! So glad to know I’m not alone in this. Lol

That really resonates with me.

I'm so glad it's not just me!

Lucky for you, it's still happening!

Elle Griffin's avatar

The pandemic, yes. But the solitude that came from that has all but disappeared in my world!

T Van Santāna's avatar

I'm sorry 😞 That's a bummer. I hope you find a way to get some back!

Great poem! I love the TikTok. It's fun to see creative people try new things. The pandemic is still influencing how I go about my business. The process of transitioning from freelance copywriting to my net thing has taken longer than I planned. But your poem is a reminder to me that I need to keep working to build my career in a way that lets me live a fully creative instead of trying to cram life around work.

Elle Griffin's avatar

YES!!!!!! One hundred percent. Build the creative life first!!!!!!! I love it.

You have the power to say No.

Elle Griffin's avatar

I know. But it was so much easier when no one was asking 🤣
